Vimar celebrates 80 years of ‘positive energy’
Near the walls of Marostica, Walter Viaro and Francesco Gusi set up Vimar in an aged hat factory on May 1st, 1945.
A date, Labour Day, which holds strong symbolic value and underscores the focus on people, who have always been considered the “human capital” on which to invest daily. Today, 80 years later, we celebrate the cultural heritage of a company that, throughout its long history, has navigated all the changes in electrification and has always worked to offer wiring accessories, solutions, and integrated systems. A strategic partner with a global approach, it boasts 9 commercial entities present on the international stage, 1,300 employees, and over 15,000 items in its catalog, protected by more than 200 filed patents.
Vimar produces 90% of its products in Italy, of which 80% is manufactured directly in its 4 factories located in the Marostica area. “Made in Italy” signifies creativity, competence, innovation, tradition, attention, and great dedication. A “production vision,” honored with the prestigious Historical Brand designation, which has involved the entire company supply chain for 80 years. The investment in the new Logistics and Production Hub, designed according to the most advanced environmental sustainability criteria, is the emblem of a long-term growth strategy.
Qualitative excellence unites the value of know-how with a profound love for innovation and design, recognized by numerous international awards.
Each light point integrates seamlessly into the project as a true furnishing accessory. Plates and switches from the Eikon, Linea, Arké, Plana, and Idea wiring accessories series fit into all environments to meet any need.
Innovation in technology, simple and accessible to all, represents another noteworthy characteristic. Within the wide range of smart home solutions, the company offers intelligent products and interconnected systems for home & building automation, for the management and control of climate and energy, and video door entry and CCTV video surveillance systems. A complete and integrated package of services, with particular attention to the local area and the environment.

Responsible production processes and ecodesign: sustainability is a commitment to the future.
For this reason, a tailored approach has been adopted, according to a circular model, aimed at minimizing consumption and promoting internal recovery of, on average, 97% of the waste produced. Furthermore, the new Linea series is the first wiring accessories series in the world to use ISCC PLUS certified plastics, a recognition that ensures the traceability and sustainability of raw materials, components, and final products throughout the supply chain. Linea replaces, in fact, 70% of traditional plastics derived from fossil sources with plastics from renewable and recycled sources. Thanks also to the optimization of production processes, the efficient management of product volumes, and the use of FSC-certified eco-sustainable packaging, it reduces equivalent CO₂ emissions produced by over 80%, with a saving of over 500 tons of equivalent CO₂ per year.
Looking to the future, the decision has been made to increase the use of renewable sources for the well-being of people and the local area. Thanks to sustainable investments, the total capacity of the three photovoltaic systems installed in the Marostica plants exceeds 1.7 GWh/year, with a saving of approximately 1,670 tons of CO₂ compared to 2018 and a self-consumption of photovoltaic energy exceeding 11% of the total annual electricity consumption.
In addition to the continuous focus on its employees, with professional and personal growth programs, the commitment to the community is also realized through collaborative projects with schools and universities, with the aim of encouraging the training of young talents.
Staying in Marostica, with an international vision, this is the solid and innovative factory model that we want to share with the world, celebrating Vimar and its 80 years of ‘positive energy’.
