Wholesaler event ‘La Ferramenta Day’ returns in March

After seven years, the event organized by the Romagna-based wholesaler La Ferramenta is back, hosting its clients at its headquarters in Santarcangelo. There are many new features on the agenda, most notably a special focus on the Housewares and Garden sectors; we discussed this with owner Luca Bonori and sales director Gloriano Mondaini.

Around 50 suppliers in attendance, technical demonstrations, exclusive promotions, and areas dedicated to Homegoods, Garden, and the Labor and Tavola&Co. brands: these are the main highlights expected at ‘La Ferramenta Day.’ The event, organized by the wholesaler of the same name under the Bonori Group, will take place at their headquarters in Santarcangelo di Romagna (RN) on March 1st.

We met with owner Luca Bonori and sales director Gloriano Mondaini, who shared the details of the event with us.

Buyer Point: Seven years after the 2019 edition, ‘La Ferramenta Day’ is back: what are the strategic reasons that prompted you to schedule your open day once again?

Luca Bonori: Our success in 2019 served as a significant validation of the work we have accomplished. The decision to return in 2026 is driven not merely by a desire to replicate that experience, but by a commitment to showcasing our latest innovations to our partners.

Over the past seven years, we have undergone a structural transformation that demands a fitting stage, following substantial investments in both infrastructure and new expertise.

Buyer Point: Among the main highlights, a significant logistical upgrade stands out. How will the expansion of your hubs in Santarcangelo and Parma impact the efficiency of your service to retailers?

Gloriano Mondaini: The expansion of our storage capacity by over 5,000 square meters is the heartbeat of our new operations. In particular, moving the ‘Housewares’ department from Imola to our headquarters and strengthening the Parma hub now allow for more centralized and fluid management.

Thanks to this optimization process, which lasted over two years and concluded in the summer of 2025, we are now able to guarantee full access to a range of 8,000 houseware items, which can be delivered seamlessly alongside traditional hardware orders. For the customer, this translates into simplified purchasing processes and faster replenishment speeds.

Buyer Point: During your open day, there will be a specific focus on the ‘Housewares’ and ‘Garden’ sectors: are these two product categories that deserve special attention today?

Luca Bonori: We believe that modern hardware stores must act as a catalyst for opportunity, capable of capturing evolving consumer trends. The housewares and gardening sectors are not merely add-ons, but fundamental pillars of growth.

Our goal is to provide retailers with the tools to diversify their offerings and secure new business opportunities through professional expertise and an extensive range of products.

Buyer Point: Regarding the commercial side of the event, you have announced dedicated promotions: what is the philosophy behind your Promos?

Gloriano Mondaini: Our trade fair must be, first and foremost, a moment of practical action. The dedicated Promos are the result of close collaboration with our partner suppliers: these are exceptional commercial conditions, valid exclusively for the duration of the event and for immediate orders. They are not designed simply to facilitate a purchase, but to generate value further down the chain: many of these dynamics are structured so that hardware stores can, in turn, replicate them for craftsmen or end customers, thereby stimulating sell-out and creating an immediate competitive advantage in their local area.

Buyer Point: What other content or activities will retailers find when attending the event on March 1st?

Gloriano Mondaini: There will be exhibition spaces designed to showcase the quality of our brands and offer an immersive experience to customers. A dedicated area will recreate an ideal store layout, highlighting our brands—including, of course, Labor and Tavola&Co., which continue to deliver increasingly rewarding results.

Furthermore, there will be opportunities to attend technical demonstrations of some of our more high-tech products, proving that the day is dedicated not only to sales but also to the training and education of our clientele.

Buyer Point: Your name has always been associated with the principles of expertise and reliability within the traditional distribution market: how do you work to earn the trust of your partners on a daily basis?

Luca Bonori: For us, reliability is a formal commitment that encompasses both business ethics—where our word is as a bond—and technical rigor. We are extremely selective regarding the certifications and the quality of the products we bring to the market.

At the same time, our expertise is demonstrated through high-value-added services, such as our specialized Security Center in Bologna. Here, via live videoconferencing systems, our technicians can support customers in resolving complex issues in real time.

We firmly believe that technology should serve as a bridge, making our know-how available to our partners at the exact moment they need it.

Fundamentally, I am certain that a shared vision among those who represent the face of our company—from management and procurement to sales—is essential for ensuring our customers can rely on us and our professional integrity.
